Being a cold miserable night, I decided to dive deep into my cave (kitchen closet) and come up w/something rich and tasty. Lo and behold I discovered some beers that I had totally forgotten. Brimstone was a Baltimore area brewery active in the late 90's. That's all I can remember about them. Where I bought the beer is beyond me, Bee-rose in DC maybe?
The packaging was lovely, a 12 ouncer w/the neck dipped in burgundy wax, a makers mark tribute perhaps.
The bottle cap popped off and the beer still had some carbonation. Hell, it had more life to it than some of the drafts in town! It has a nice sweet aroma, sort of a barley wineish flavor but a tad too sweet for my taste. The body has held up well, not thin at all and not thick n sludgy.
Whoops, just found another bottle with the label still attached. I guess this was brewed after they got bought out by Frederick, though Marc Tewey's name and signature are on the label.
