Breville 12 cup food processor - can I process dates, Breville instruction booklet does not recommend it.

I have FINALLY purchased a food processor. Bed, Bath and Beyond now has the Breville 12 cup an I saved $60 with their coupon. I have just quickly gone through instructions and they recommend not using dates or figs as they can stick to the blades. I was intending to process dates as I have healthy recipes for energy bars and this was one of the reasons for getting fp. On a review from amazon, one person used dates and was happy with outcome. Should I just go ahead and use dates?

Does anyone have this fp? Any suggestions for healthy preparations in a food processor. Very limited recipes came with this machine. I imagine that I can look on utube and follow same recipes that are for the Breville 16 cup. If you have ideas I would love to hear from you.
