BF and I went to Coppa last night to split a pizza, snack and wine and everything was fantastic like usual. The salt cod crostini isn't oversalted or dry as I have experienced at other restaurants, and we can't get over their melanzane pizza with banana peppers (paired with $5 glasses of Nero D'Avola? can't be beat). At the end of dinner, the server asked us if we wanted dessert, to which we both replied "you serve dessert now?!" The offerings were chocolate gelato, which we knew they had before, and cinnamon bread pudding. The bread pudding took about 7-8 minutes to come out, but when she brought it to the table, we realized why. The bread pudding is fired and served in its own mini casserole dish, with a slightly sweet vanilla glaze and sweet breadcrumbs sprinkled over the top. The texture of this dish was spot on--chewy/crisp on the top and custardy and rich in the middle, and it had a hint of sweetness, just how I like my bread pudding. I hope that we make it back to Coppa before they stop serving this dessert. If you are a bread pudding person like me, this dish is definitely worth the trip.
