A bread and butter pudding made with leftover croissants (almond and plain) as well as pain du chocolat. Suitably eggy/custardy at the base, cloaked in a warm custard sauce, with various bites giving rise to a delightful bittersweet chocolate note (they're using good choc, not run of the mills stuff) or to sweet nutty almond paste. Very enjoyable, even if the top parts were not as impregnated with egg and cream as the lower parts. A massive serving, best washed down with tea.
Side note: pretty good blueberry muffin at Chewies in Haverstock Hill, a bit drier than I would have liked, but good concentrated flavour in the blueberries.
