Bread & Butter Cucumbers

ingredients~~~
10 lbs cucumbers..(unpeeled) sliced thinly
2 large onions, peeled & sliced thinly
¾ cup salt
5 cups malt vinegar
5 cups sugar
1 Tablespoon mustard seed
1 teaspoon dry mustard powder
1 teaspoon tumeric
1 teaspoon celery salt

Method~~

Place cucumbers & onions in a large bowl, sprinkle with salt,
Cover with ice blocks,
Keep pressing down; Leave to stand for 3 hours.
Drain well, then wash with cold water& drain again
Add vinegar, sugar, mustard seed,etc.
Bring almost to boil( but do NOT boil)
Remove from hotplate
Bottle into heated jars and seal immedaitely.
