Brazil Bakery

Was in & around the Heartland (?) shopping outlets in Mississauga yesterday when my Mom & I decided to stop for lunch. I spotted this sign for Brazil Bakery in a plaza with some other interesting options (Kaarma - Indian-Chinese). This bakery is actually not Brazilian, but Portugese, and everything there looked fantastic. Mama-duke had a grilled cheese, which was on a great water bread that was grilled in a panini-press -- excellent. I had a very simple turkey-havarti sandwich on a small roll that was also outstanding. I feel so blessed everytime I have some very good, fresh bread. Such a rare thing it seems. Oh, also threw a bacalao down the hatch, which tasted great although my preference would have been to warm it up in the oven and eaten it with a dab of sauce.

They've got some great-looking pastries and other canned sundries there. Coffee smelled & looked very good, as folks lounged around and watched World Cup. For a second, I totally forgot I was in Mississauga (strip mall hell).

They have 2 outposts according to the bag my loaf came in -- one on Dundas West, and this one on Mavis Rd.
