Brass Cap: Probably horrible, but we don't know for sure...

Dylan | Mar 6, 200503:34 PM

Last night we went to Brass Cap, the new restaurant in the space formally occupied by the Beach House. I'm pretty sure that the place is awful, but I don't know for sure. After sitting down it took them a good 45 minutes to bring us anything to drink... we had a hard time getting the attention of anyone to order... finally about an hour later, the power started going out intermittently. Then another half hour later they announced they probably wouldn't be able to make any food at all... finally a few appetizers did appear and they were universally awful. A shockingly inept salad labelled as "frisee lardons" seemed to be shredded cabbage with bottled ranch dressing. The heirloom tomato salada consited of roughly chopped slices of Ralph's tomatoes.

Admittedly, it was hard to get an objective feel for the place given the power disruption, but my suspicion is that it needs a lot of work. Too bad, because the Beach House was a fine venue.
