New branch of Sunny Side Cafe in Berkeley

abstractpoet | Nov 14, 2009 01:23 PM

Just found out that there's a new location of Sunny Side Cafe in Berkeley at 2136 Oxford St. (at the intersection w/ Center St.). Any reports? I wonder if the menu is the same and if the quality of the food is up to par.

At the Albany cafe they were giving away 20% coupons (for the new location) with your meal.

Incidentally, I had an amazing turkey and mushroom "Alameda" (their signature savory French toast "sandwich") off the specials board today for $12.95 at the original Albany restaurant. I love the Alameda anyway, but this one was over the top, with braised coffee-rubbed Diestel turkey breast that came soaked in the really delicious mushroom-based braising liquid, along with roasted Roma tomatoes and the usual poached eggs and hollandaise. Good stuff.
