Boyco Foods Buckwheat Honey @ Portland Farmers Market at PSU

Melanie Wong | Sep 14, 201802:42 PM     3

One of the most unique things tasted at the Saturday morning Portland Farmers Market https://www.chowhound.com/post/briar-... , was the Buckwheat Honey at Boyco Foods' booth. Sourced from Eastern Oregon and limited in quantity, this had a dark hue verging on black with equally deep flavors. Less sweet than other varieties, the buckwheat honey tasted like malt, toasted nuts and carob, and a bit steely. I balked at the $18 price, and looking back now, I'm sorry I did not purchase it then.

Wild and Wonderful Local Honey

Think of all the vegetables, trees, flowers, herbs, and fruit that produce blossoms for the bees. Boyco Foods has a hive in as many fields as they can...
