If anyone is interested, I think the best bowl of soup in the city is the #1 Spicy Pork and Beef Pho at a place called Hoong Giong on Victoria and 42nd on the east side of the street. In this soup are vietnamese pate, basil meatballs, brisket, noodles and shredded cabbage. It is finished with chile oil. I have noticed that this place is getting a bit of a following. This seems to be the only Vietnamese joint without any men working there. This is a good thing. It seems to serve more what I would imagine a street vendor in Saigon would make. All the Pho is top shelf! Go, don't be afraid. Any other comments on the best bowl in the city? Don't bother saying it's at Tim Hortons. If a soup has ever seen the inside of a plastic bag it can't be good!
