We are seeking tip-top food, a memorable romantic setting, and unobtrusive, well-informed service (in that order of importance) -- with a celebratory budget of up to $350 for two to eat and drink well for a Saturday night dinner in Manhattan.
Having reviewed this board (and not having lived in NYC or spent much time there for the past 10 years), here's our current short list:
Bouley (should it be Danube?)
Daniel (is it comfortable?)
Danube (should it be Bouley?)
Gotham Bar & Grill (have never been - is it still tops?)
Le Bernadin (is it romantic?)
Nobu (does it really belong on this list?)
Alternates: I'm currently learning more about Craft, Erminia, and Babbo.
Will you please provide feedback and opinions of what's missing from the list and what you think doesn't belong, as well as your recommendations?
We're happy to reciprocate when you come to Boston for your special celebration (our general short list here includes: Oishii-Too, East Coast Grill, Chez Henri, and sometimes Upstairs on the Square)!
Thanks very much!!
