I wandered over to Boston Banh Mi today for lunch. As expected, I am loving my Banh Mi and my shrimp summer rolls. However, it is a bit bittersweet.
The very nice lady who runs the place told me that they will be closing "for good" at the "end of the month", the "28th". I presume she means this Thursday. She said the landlord, who she says is the owner of Emperor Garden (upstairs), has raised the rent, and she cannot afford to stay there any longer.
Good news: although there are no concrete plans in place, she does hope to re-open at some point somewhere in Chinatown.
As I left, she told me: "Thank you so much for your support over the years." I didn't have the heart to tell her it was my first visit.
