Boston Bakery Thoughts after Thanksgiving

I honestly now believe that Iggy's is the best bakery
in the Boston area. Their rolls are excellent (try
the Brioche rolls), breads outstanding (raisin and
walnut) and they now have other offerings to round
out their repetoire ( a very, light and flaky quiche -
like pastry.) Plus their bagels, yummy! Their cookies
are delic, yet pricey. Plus, bread pudding...

Clear Flour for their Epi's and their Macaroons (the
best I have ever had). But, for me, that is about all.

Modern Bakery in the North End for their Ricotta Pies.
Was disappointed with the cream puffs bought over the
weekend. Yes, the Ricotta pies and the lobster tails
suffice here.

Athans for their wonderful cookies. They beat the
North End cookies by a long shot (although I like
Mike's Walnut Butter cookies). Their cakes occasionally - very rich, nontraditional.

Scones - Sel de la Terre. Although, the other offerings here I will have to pass on.

Again, I will have to give the all-around nod to
Iggy's for their quality and diversity.
