boiled crawfish at Cajun Claws

Beau Noppatee | Mar 3, 200412:09 PM

Another wonderul crawfish dinner to be had in Abbeville, La. The critters they serve are plump, huge, and well seasoned. Cajun Claws is on Charity Street, the main drag (Hwy 14 but not the bypass), in this sleepy cajun town. The crawfish are culled and you do pay $2 more than at Richard's per order (for the small orders of 3.5 pounds), but in return they are all uniformly huge.

Get the seafood gumbo if you go. It is wonderfully seasoned and just delicious. You can get a cup as an appetizer. I just about snarfed my dinner companion's whole appetizer, b/c that darn seafood gumbo was so good.

It's a friendly place, too. But that's a "given" in Abbeville.
