Blue Mountain Coffee Beans, Raw or Very Lightly Roasted?

coll | Feb 1, 2006 06:05 AM

I've never had Blue Mountain coffee here in the States that tastes like it does in Jamaica. I think it may be because they get the beans direct from the plantation and roast it themselves at home. A native Jamaican told me he would bring me some back; he roasted them himself and they were a light tan color and so delicious. All I get here are dark brown beans that taste like most any other coffee (to me, anyway).
Anyway, I've never roasted coffee, but if I had to I'd try it. I know how pricy they are, so I'm not looking for more than a pound or two.
Thanks.
