After reading recent reviews, I was hesitant to go to Blue Hill for the first time tonight. However, mainly due to the reviews from cabrales over the past months, I went with my girlfriend, a friend of the family, and her father. As they were heading to the theater afterwards, we went early (5:30). The meal was wonderful.
Everything - from the appetizers (salmon tartare, foie gras, etc.) to the entrees (cod, salmon, lamb, and veal) to the desserts (cheeses, chocolate bread pudding, beignets, and a number of additional small petit fours) were wonderfully flavored and quite tasty. The lamb, especially, was amazing. Perfectly rare, along with a lamb shoulder confit served in canneloni shell. Service was also great.
If this is a place that is going downhill (as some have reported), then I would have loved to see it a year or two ago b/c this was a great meal.
