Went to Blue Dog Tavern in Sherman Oaks after a movie at the Arclight ("The Imitation Game" -- very good, BTW).
A mixed bag for the food. Buffalo wings looked unappetizing (looked mildly burnt and the chicken was cut into small bite-sized nuggets) but actually tasted fine. Decent crunch, and the meat wasn't dry.
Cesar salad was very good (great croutons; dressing was tasty but a bit too thick).
Pulled pork fries sounded great but tasted pretty bad. Limp fries, and I think the pulled pork was doused in their special root-beer BBQ sauce. The sauce was overly sweet yet had some odd (and unpleasant) tangy/fermented after-taste. Not sure how you could mess up fried starch + slow-cooked meat, but they managed to do it.
Arnold Palmer was so diluted that I thought I was drinking flavored water.
Wasn't horrible, but I can't say I'm hugely tempted to go back, even if I were just across the street watching a movie....
