Another one bites the dust: Bertolucci's

Gary Soup | Apr 14, 200404:19 PM     8

Delfina's it ain't, but Bertolucci's Restaurant (South San Francisco), a giant of an institution, is closing Saturday. Bertolucci's was one of the doyennes of the bust-your-gut family style Italian restaurants, and in its heyday was apparently a destination for celebrities as well. I recall it from the 60's, when my then father-in-law liked to treat us (we we starving students) at Bertolucci's. It was extremely cheap (cheaper than the North Beach family-styles) and had plenty of parking, which were probably the main attractions for him.

Any Bertolucci memories?
