Great meal number two was at Bistro Maxime, in
downtown Chappaqua. This is also not inexpensive --
$40 to $50 per person for a full dinner with wine --
but it's very good for the occasional special meal.
They seem to specialize in duck. There were four duck
dishes on the menu this weekend. The two that we
ordered were both excellent: grilled breast of duck and
duck with orange/raspberry sauce. Other dishes that we
tried and enjoyed included a mussels appetizer, cooked
in white wine with lots of shallots; a very nice pate;
artichoke & ricotta ravioli in a red pepper & cream
sauce; and I didn't take notes so I can't remember
Make reservations; it's a small place.
