Hello, everyone - I am in need of your expert opinions! My mother is coming to town next Friday night for her birthday (late 50s), and a few of us in the family would like to take her out for dinner. I just moved to Chicago so I don't know where to go... I live in Lakeview but am open to any neighborhood (although I'd prefer public transportation access for those without cars). Due to varying income levels and the upcoming holiday, we need to keep it affordable ($20-$25ish pp at the absolute max, but preferably less). Also, due to a more standard-fare leaning group, I'd like to go somewhere that is delicious and fun and low key, but not too outside the box for those that are less adventurous. There should room for at least 10 of us at a table. I did look through the previous Chowhound birthday posts, but those were mostly more expensive special places. Please, help a newbie Chicagoan out! Thanks for your suggestions.
