Birches (Baltimore)

Spade | Aug 10, 2005 04:03 PM

I friend of mine and I were looking for someplace we hadn't been in Baltimore last night and headed over to Birches. Nothing original here-- it's basically pub food, but given a nice flavor by the hardwood grill
that nearly everything is cooked on. We sampled a grilled pizza, burger and artichokes, all of them pretty good. And there's a entire menu of only french fries (!) The plain ones we had could have stood to be slightly crisper, but weren't too bad.

There's about 4-5 tables on the sidewalk out front. Not much of a view, though-- just a bunch of formstone, hon.

Verbatim conversation from the table next to us:

Woman 1: So I'm trying to get Erik Estrada to do this personal appearance
Woman 2: Yeah?
Woman 1: Get this-- he wants $20,000! Can you believe that?
Woman 2: Wow! Ponch?
Woman 3: How about Tony Orlando.... is he dead?
