Bigos at Andy's Deli

My son requested bigos for tonight's dinner (an antidote for candy overload?), so we headed to Andy's Deli/Mikolajczyk Sausage (5442 N. Milwaukee). Their ready-to-eat counter had a bigos mysliwski (hunter's bigos) for $2.99/lb, as good as my late mother-in-law used to make. Flavors blended, wild mushrooms, diced sausage, bacon, meats, etc. Very tasty with their store brand 2 lb. rye, the version that's 1/2 of a big round loaf.

We also enjoyed their thin fresh Polish sausage (not smoked)--kielbasa nadziewana,$2.99/lb--roasted & ready to go at the same counter. They definitely have English speaking staff here. The couple in front of me was conferring about what to purchase in French, and the husband then ordered in English. Anna
