Bibou: Live Up To Expectations?

Definitely! Memorable evening. Service gracious and warm, no glitches, Tough choices from the menu: for me it wasn't easy there was so much that sounded appealing.

Standout concensus: their way with wild mushrooms. The mushroom soup, with venison cracklings was about the best I've had since Joe's in Reading. My friend rhapsodized over her creamed mushroom appetizer. Veal morsels large, tasty and wonderfully sauced. My husband, the well-done meat eater, apologetically sent his back; they couldn[t have been more accomodating, and the final result was perfect. I order an odd dish: pigs trotter, stuffed with foie gras, atop luscious lentils. Not sure I would order that again, but it was authentic French melt-in-your-mouth richness and I loved the nautiness of it all.

Desserts another tough call: plum tart for hubby and me, accompanied by wild blueberries, strawberries and cream. Chocolate cake with creme anglais for our friend; her hubby relished his French three cheese plate. French Press decafe topped it all off: madeleines on the side. Chef came over to shake our hands and thank us for coming: give us a break, we were in French country heaven. $208 total for 4, including 8% tax. Well worth it; we will be back. Parking in municipal lot right next door... Who could ask for more?
