Beto's in Orlando

Bob Mervine | Oct 2, 2003 12:01 AM

I seldom start a thread, but after gorging on the wonderful and cheap Mexican fare at Beto's tonight, had to throw it out for discussion.
Located in an old Chinese take out on Highway 436, just east of Highway 17-92 in Casselberry, in the parking oot of the Bed, Bath and Beyond strip mall (look for the red roof) this place is heaven for what it is.
No atmosphere, staff barely speaks English, but for under $10 I had a large tosta with shredded beef and guacomole (fresh roll baked Mexican style), Carnitas burrito w/fresh pico di gallo and rice and a smothered shredded beef burrito w/rice and refried beans.
best of all, open 24/7/365 -- but no beer.
They do make several of the Mexican flavored soft drinks ( such as tamarind) that I find disgustingly sweet but many people love.
A second store should be open by now on SOBT at Holden.
Anyone else tried them?

Bob
