Of three of us, I was the only one enamored with Umbra.
I had duck salad on pecan crisp that was sublime.
Corn chowder was also excellent. Other app forgetable (what was it, I forget.)
Chicken dish, so so.
My cod with gnocci superb, delicate, tasty.
Scallop main was just so so as well.
Desserts were very good.
App of duck livers was excellent as was the arugala bacon salad.
Steak frite was perfect absolutely dead on excellent rare steak, crispy browned frite. Creamed spinach rich and delightful.
Lobster corn risotto ($10+) was superb, complex, and very rich.
Basil ice cream with peach tatin was just the light touch to finish my heavy meal.
My compatriot had berries and sorbet. The sorbet was excellent.
All in a very respectable RW.
