I've passed by Beckmann's pies at various farmers markets because they are pricy ($9 for a small pie) and I never remembered reading anything about them.
The strawberry-rhubarb got to me so I splurged. This was a very good pie and probably one of the better pies of this particular flavor in the Bay Area.
There is a good, simple ingrediant list with no junk in it. The crust is buttery.Good ratio of filling with actual pieces of rhubarb and strawberry ... not gluey like some. On the box it says "fully baked, but bake me again for an amazing crust ... and it was excellent ... it brings out an extra butteriness ... warm strawberry-rubarb pie ... how good is that?
They remind me a little of Upper Crust a little, but better. I rarely buy Upper Crust. I'd buy the Beckmann's pie again.
