Beau Coup in Nob Hill

Jupiter | Apr 14, 2003 06:36 PM

So on friday night my friends and i are strolling around Nob Hill (after taking advangtage of our free passes to the Club One at the Fairmount) and we decide that the best way to top off three hours in the spa is with cocktails. We try the top of the mark (just to see what all the hub bub is about, and get shot down. Back out on the street we spot an intense red glow emanating form the builiding across the street. We investigate. The entrance to this place (called Beau Coup) is fabulous! These are the interiors that architecture magazines are made of. Definetely giving Boulevard a run for it's money.
we make our way to the back room where there is a fire going and some comfortable chairs. We peruse the drink list and order our cocktails.
while we are sipping and gabbing, we of course can't help but notice some of the food going by us, and it looks like it is coming out of magazines, so of course we have to ask for a menu: and of course what is written down on this menu looks absolutely fantastic. (granted, anyone can write some words on a menu and embellish it with the right terms to make your mind race....)

Now here is my main question: has anyone been here? is it a total tourist trap cause of it's neighborhood? the food looked resonably priced for what it was, which led me to believe that you could most definetely get a bad plate.

how come i have never heard of this place or seen it reviewed here? does anyone have an opinion?
thanks in advance and have a great day!

and if you go for cocktails i would recommend what i got except that now i can't remember the name! but it was basically a mojito with cassis served in a martini glass and i beleive it was called a french daquiri and it was the best drink of the round.

mmmmm
