I know we've been posting on Beast since it opened. And I know that there is some speculation about whether the food is worth the price. However, I have to give TWO THUMBS UP for another great brunch.
Today I threw a party for 13 at Beast, around noon. They were very generous with the reservation, and we basically had the back room to ourselves. Service was very good, and the food was EXCELLENT.
I have been eating brunch in NYC for over seven years, and I don't think I have every enjoyed anything more than their strong coffee and chorizo hash with poached eggs. I also loved the polenta with goat cheese and sundried tomato. Others at the table enjoyed buckwheat pancakes, chicken salad, and the standard (eggs, potato and wild boar sausage).
I find it MUCH more satisfying and financially viable than dinner (although I love their bread and fried manchego).
I love being able to give such a positive report on a local spot!
