Beard Papas Cream Puffs

Richard | Aug 18, 2005 05:17 PM

Very recently I visited the new Beard Papas at Fanueil Hall. I had previously read about it in a couple magazines. It is part of a Japanese chain that sells basically just cream puffs. I bought a dozen mixed for my family and everyone was thrilled with them. The pastry shell was both crunchy outside and soft inside. They inject the pastry to order so the shell does not get soggy sitting around. We had the vanilla and chocolate custards and both fillings were a delight, and not overly sweet. They are only about $1.75 each and definitely worth the price. They will be adding more flavors in the future, such as green tea. And will also be opening one in Harvard Square. I will definitely be back for more.
