Beacon of light on I-95 in South Carolina

I just wound up a drive from New York to Florida on the dreaded I-95, and thought I'd post about a little sandwich/lunch spot in Santee, SC — easy on, easy off. Cute place, run by friendly, talkative folks, next door to a Subway franchise. I had fresh fruit and the much-touted chicken-salad sandwich, which was everything you want in a chicken-salad sandwich (that is, not a whole lot); it was excellent. The cakes and pies looked good too, though sadly, post-holidays-in-New York, I was obliged to pass them up. Anyway, it was nothing out of this world, but if you're doing 95 and need coffee or a quick lunch I'd recommend holding out for the Santee exit.
