New Bay Ridge Moroccan - Casablanca

ropa vieja | Feb 14, 200805:48 PM

Hey all, just tried what appears to be a brand new Moroccan place in Bay Ridge called Casablanca. Its on Bay Ridge Avenue, between 4th and 5th aves (much closer to 4th), right near the Bay Ridge Ave stop on the R train. Very solid addition to that area. We had lamb tagine with artichoke, chicken tagine with lemon and olives. vegetable couscous. excellent creamy hummus and a fatoosh salad. the tagines are all in the $9-$10 range, and the grilled entrees a bit more. I recommend this place. Probably on a par with the nearby Maison du couscous, but much cheaper. (albeit not as extensive a menu.) be warned: not long on atmosphere unless a tiny room dominated by a widescreen tv is your thing. still, worth a trip, i think. and very friendly people running it.
