I've been eating a lot of banh mi, lately and I've been wondering about where to find the best. Here's the list of what I've tried so far.

Hoang Oanh: 1071 St-Laurent and 7178 St-Denis

It's my regular place. I like the choices of meats, the quality of the bread and big chunky carrots and daikon. My favourites there are the grilled beef and the sausage banh mi.

Cao Thang: 1082 St-Laurent

Went there once and probably won't go back. The bread used for my sandwich was stale and although the fillings were okay, having to chew through that dry, stale baguette ruined it for me.

Thai Son: 7093 St-Denis

I ordered the Banh Mi Xiu Mai (meatball sandwich) and although the xui mai were a little bland the bread was just incredible. Soft and moist inside and light and crispy on the outside. I will definitly go again to try other varieties.

Nhu Lan: 814 St-Zotique East

Went to this place when it originaly openned and loved it. The beef sandwich was especially good. Unfortunately it closed for many months and has changed hands. It is now good, but not great. Nothing here stands out good or bad. They make a perfectly serviceable sandwich.

Marché Kim Phat: 3733 Jarry East

They make a decent banh mi. The bread is good. The garnishes are tasty. Not great, but not bad.

Marché Orientale: 7101 St-Denis

See Marché Kim Phat review.

So, where should I go next?
