Banff, Jasper, Calgary report (w/ pics)

My friends and I had a great trip to the Canadian Rockies. I went with some non-chowhounds so I didn't get to try all that I wanted, but these are where we went. Thanks for the tip from my request:

Jasper: I wanted to try Fiddle River Seafood Company in Jasper but my one friend said it was too expensive so we ended up at Northface Pizza. The pizza tasted fine 12" pizza ($16.75 CA) we got mushroom, sausage, and green pepper, an order of poutine-fries, gravy, mozzarella & extra cheese curd $4.75 CA; and one tiny slice of garlic toast $1.

Banff: Tried East Express for quick, cheap Japanese fast food. One friend got a chicken teriyaki rice plate ($6 CA) and complained not enough vegetables, others got a chicken and egg donburi, and I got a roast pork udon w/ some lettuce in soup which I enjoyed about $8 CA. 202 Caribou St, Banff. 11a-9pm they take credit cards.

Calgary: We tried Silver Dragon Restaurant in Calgary's Chinatown. It was very busy even at 1:45pm in the afternoon. We got a number and was told 20 min wait, think we only waited 10 min. Was seated got lots of dishes which I thought were good. Then a long wait with nothing new so we just paid and left. About $35 CA for 4 ppl. Left full but wanted a few more dishes.

If you're hiking do the Lake Agnes hike to the Lake Agnes teahouse and get a homemade sandwich, homemade dessert, and a large pot of tea ($7.50-$8.50 CA). We got the tea which was nice, but really regret not getting a sandwich with their homemade bread (price was $6 CA)

Banff Wine Store
302 Caribou St, Banff
sells Inniskillin Icewine mini bottles 500 ml $6.95 CA. I should have asked if they had bigger bottles because I love that stuff. Sweet dessert wine.
