Bamboo cutting board carfe and questions

Pwelsh4 | May 25, 201508:21 PM

I just recently got a bamboo cutting board so I started to look into how to take care of it because its one of the nicer inch thick cutting boards and I don't want to screw it up. While looking around for care tips, I found a bunch of opposing opinions on how to take care of it and even to have one.
So basically here are my questions:

1. What is the proper or at least best way to take care of a bamboo cutting board? How should I was it, do I oil it, ect.
2. I saw people say that they don't put raw meat on their cutting boards (both wood and bamboo), so can I or should I not? If not, what should it be used for?
3. Is wood really better than bamboo? Is there a huge difference?
4. I read that bamboo is a little harder on your knives than wood. Does that mean I'll just have to sharpen and hone them more often?

Thanks for all the answers
