Balthazar or Five Points for brunch?

Caitlin Wheeler | Oct 20, 2002 10:11 AM

My parents (definite chowhounds, but not really willing to trek very far) are visiting next weekend from LA. I want to take them to a good brunch, and I've heard Balthazar and Five Points both have excellent Sunday brunches. They've been to Five Points for dinner and liked it, but they're both huge Paris freaks (go at least once a year in lieu of visiting me in NYC) so Balthazar might be fun for them.

Also, any suggestions on good places for dinner that aren't too fancy? They're staying at Washington Square, so that neighborhood might be good. We're going to Lupa Sunday Night, and I was thinking Blue Water Grill Friday. Any other suggestions? Thanks!
