Armed with Cynsa's rec for the baked char siu bao, my mom and I stopped by Lung Fung Bakery on Wednesday morning.
Hot from the warming oven, the large bun was 90¢. I bought one and took it out to the car for Mom to taste. Filled generously with chopped barbecue pork swathed with gravy, the very light textured bread was barely sweet. Mom gave the okay, and asked me to go back in to buy six more. The counter lady said she could put them in a box and give me seven buns for $6. Sold!
