Years ago a neighbor gave me her mother's recipe for corned beef which she called Fake Pastrami. Whatever, it makes unbelievable sandwiches on rye bread and now with corned beef on sale everywhere let me share it. Boil the corned beef with mixed pickling spice then fish it out of the water, wash off the seeds, and put it in a pan or baking dish. Stud it with whole cloves like a ham. Mix dark brown sugar with enough mustard to moisten and smear this all over the meat. Bake in a 350* oven for 20-30 minutes to glaze. As it cools, keep spooning the goo over it. Chill, slice, use for sandwiches.
