Baja Fresh

This chain just opened at the new shops at Derby Street Shops in Hingham. The South Shore is sadly lacking in really good Mexican, the best by far being El Sarape on Weymouth. Now I will take El Sarape any day over Baja Fresh but I have to day it really wasn't bad.

We went, purely by accident, on its Grand Opening last Sunday. I had the burrito with steak and my husband had the Ultimo burrito with steak, which adds onions, peppers, and beans. Both burritos were fresh, hot and tasty. Nice salsa bar with varied assortments. My favorite was the roasted tomato one that looked almost black.

Dragged some co-workers back on Tuesday and we shared some chips and guacamole. Chips were a little too salty and the guac. was pretty generic. I had the bean and cheese burrito to which I added steak. You can choose black or pinto beans. I chose black and loved it, again hot fresh and tasty but it was almost too much food. Once friend had the fish tacos and she raved about them. She compared them to her favorite place back in CA. Other friend had the Ultimo Burrito with chicken.

Honestly, I would go back again for lunch. Its hits the spot when you need a quick Mexican fix. However when I crave the real thing I will stick with El Sarape.
