What's the deal with the Bespeckled Trout? There was that whole writeup in the Times about their fab, homemade choc syrup deluxe egg creams, etc. However, I don't know how the writer of that piece ever knew that they have a "deluxe" egg cream available, since there's no signage to that effect, and the old lady that makes the fountain stuff isn't helpful or friendly in the least. I had one of the worst milkshakes ever there--it was thin, with no slushy ice cream texture, tasted like coffee milk, and it was TINY! it barely came 2/3rds of the way up a standard plastic cup (not a big cup--maybe a medium coffee cup). Pretty sucky for around $4! I got a (regular) egg cream at the Chick-Inn next door (which was brought over from BT), and it was nothing special--too sweet.
