Peeked in a week ago Sunday evening while walking by and felt sorry for this new place: they appeared to have zero business.

Enjoyed dinner with wife and mother on Tuesday, and although there were only a few other parties seated when we started at 8, the place was at least 2/3 full by 9:30 or so. Duck was the big winner, very nice hanger steak (we think it's the authentic cut of beef, but we're not experts), so-so tuna. Escargot was served with not terribly garlicky, but really nicely green herby, butter.

Returned with a party of five this Sunday around 9, and the place was fairly packed, with an additional private party in the garden. Too cold with the back door open to try more fish, but steaks were again just right, rabbit with mustard sauce was reported excellent, and we all actually enjoyed the lamb, which came with a fairly sweet sauce not too distant from the one served with the duck, I think. We also enjoyed the pate and the steak tartare, though one of our party thought the latter was a bit "busier" than he'd prefer. Grilled sardines were just about perfect too - though I probably won't order them again soon, since they're a grilling season staple at our place for a lot cheaper than eight bucks per two sardines, even from Fish Tales.

Of course the fact that it's currently BYOB makes for a terrific value.

Last night apparently they had some noise complaints from a neighbor quite early in the evening. I hope they get this resolved and that they'll be able to keep their garden open to diners and/or parties this summer.
