I thought since I've been made making a variety of vegetable purees for years that I didn't really need a cookbook on baby food. Then, recently, I read things like "don't give your baby homemade pureed spinach" since the spinach we buy comercially is apparently high in nitrates. The article noted that baby food companies know this and are able to remove them. Other foods were also noted as being very high in nitrates and potentially harmful to babies if prepared at home. While this sounds like something that would be espoused by baby food manufacturers it was written by either consumer union or one of those similar kinds of groups. Can someone please recommend a book which gives recipes for baby food as well as reliable info.re: what to feed our baby and when to introduce certain foods (e.g. nuts, chocolate, spices). Thanks in advance.
