Ay-Chung Flour Rice Noodle in San Gabriel Square

Chandavkl | Mar 23, 2004 06:08 PM

The latest fad in San Gabriel Valley Chinese dining seems to be the single operator food court, and the latest entry is Ay-Chung Flour Rice Noodle on the second floor of San Gabriel Square at Valley and Del Mar in San Gabriel. This operation is a little more chaotic than the other food court places mentioned on this board due to the fact that while there is a single location for placing your order, there are multiple pick up locations. They seem to have separate preparation areas for different categories of food--noodle dishes, rice dishes, soup and drinks--so when your order is ready you'll be called to where it was prepared. Unfortunately, they call out order numbers in Mandarin, so for those of us who don't speak the lingo you have to pay special attention to see where your order is coming from. Only one item on the menu is more than $4.50 and the typical price is $3.50, so this is a great place for good, cheap food.
