Awesome spinach artichoke dip!

There is a small, neighborhood place called Cafe 50 West on 22nd Street between 5th and 6th Avenues. I'd been there for brunch a couple of times (good sandwiches and drinks), and we went for dinner last night. We ordered the Spinach & Artichoke Dip as a starter--impressive. It's the best I've had... anywhere. It had tons of fresh, flavorful artichoke hearts (you've got to like artichoke to like this) and was light on the heavy, gloppy cheese that weighs down so many other dips like it. And it's served with toasted pita triangles instead of oily, oversalted chips like at Houston's.

The other dinner dishes at Cafe 50 West (venison, pork meatballs, and salmon) were just average. Nevertheless, that dip is great and worth stopping in for if you're in the area.
