Awesome lunch at Local Foods

On Dunstan in Rice Village next to Benjy's. This yet another local farms to mrkt restauarnt featuring delicious sandwiches and sides menu.. I had a Banh Mi sandwich stuffed with lean tasty pork, cucumber, jalapeno on an incredible french baguette. Choice of 2 sides or soup,, I chose the creamy Lemongrass chicken, ginger and rice soup. All for 10 bucks. GF had the house smoked salmon, w/local greens, onion jam on a poppy bagel for $11. The breads here are super delicious,, better than i would find for the same at central mrkt or whole foods. The breads are available for sale along with fresh tomatoes and other goods. The sandwiches we enjoyed, topped off with a carot cake cupcake which was also remarkable.

Other sandwiches include, a capered tuna, a crunchy chx, a house made pastrami, a gulf shrimp and blue crab, a truffled egg salad on a pretzel bun, a duck confit and a falafel sandwich,, all dressed with a variety of cheeses and goodness... $ range, 9-13 dollars.

This will become my new favorite meal stop. Pay at the cash register, meals are delivered to your table.
