I just got back from a trip to Baja- not the resort area of Cabo, but northern and Central Baja. I never realized how good Mexican food could be. It was as though I'd grown up eating McDonalds, and then someone handed me my first backyard charcoal grilled burger with all the fixins.
Anyway, it's left me with a real craving for authentic Mexican- particularly the salsa fresca, and the awesome fresh tortillas. We had brunch at Hotel La Fonda and the flour tortillas were so good you could have eaten them plain. (Except that there was so much good stuff to put in them.)
I'd love to find a place in Jackson Heights or really anywhere where I could indulge again. Oh and I loved the breakfasts...if anyone could tell me of a place serving Chilaquiles I'd love you forever. Oh and fish tacos. And...well I could keep going forever. :)
