Please excuse my ignorance: what is authentic Chinese cuisine like? It is hard to imagine that the Chinese people would subject themselves to the (albeit delicious!) greasy foods they offer in take-out joints on a daily basis.
I love beef fried rice and chicken mangolian as much as the next person, but at some point, you gotta start thinking about cholesterol. Is their authentic diet less greasy? Akin to Japanese and Korean food? Do they supplement with fresh vegetables and fruits?
Are there any authentic Chinese restaurants in the Chicago area that you would recommend?
Thanks in advance!
