I'm half japanese and I remember when I was young my asian grandmother use to make the most amazing food. Especially soups, which was always really light, most of the time with lots of veggies and some meat. One that I can think off the top of my head is this wintermelon soup, i think she made it with some pork and other veggies.... But I have no idea what kind of stock she used, so I can't even attempt to recreate anything. Now I wish that I would've asked how to make all those foods when I had the chance. But now neither I know how nor my mother, who doesn't really cook.
So I was wondering if anyone had any good authentic asian soup recipe they'd be willing to share with me, particularly japanese and chinese. Or if anyone knows of a good cookbook that would have some recipes in it. Please help. Thank you
