Actually South Congress Cafe, in "trendy" SoCo. We liked this place alot. Very actractive setting, very interesting menu, and several vegetarian options. I tried the Beef Milanesa($12): filet medalions pan fried and served with a very tasty crawfish cream gravy, with sides of snow peas and red peppers, yellow squash with diced tomatos, and potato enchiladas. All terrific. We split the Very Blue Salad ($7), which was ample and agreable. Tom found his Angle Hair Salsa Fresca ($8) to be a bit too oily/buttery.
The service was excellent. They were happy to sub the potato enchilada for the garlic mashed that came with my meal. The place fills-up at about 7:00 (on a Wednesday), and when we left at 7:15 there was an hour wait for a table.
They don't take reservations, but you can "call ahead" to be placed on the wait list. #447-3905
