Aunt Kizzy's Back Porch

Finally made the trek out to MDR for soul food (sounds totally incongruous). I liked the greens, stuffing, mac & cheese, & corn muffins. Not as heavy or salty as other places I've tried like M & M or Flossie's or Jean P's 99 Cent Soul Food (where nothing is actually 99 cents, just like the Monty Python cheese shop w/no cheese). Chicken had been under the heat lamp way too long though. Would not return unless I happened to be in the area.

Quest for the best fried shiggin continues. Somehow, I consistently enjoy Popeye's, Church's, or even KFC more than local operators. All I can say to Eric Schlosser is, those chemical factories in New Jersey where they add all the flavor are doing a mighty fine job...
