Atwood Cafe @ State & Washington

Had a Pre-Harry Connick Jr dinner here at the Atwood Cafe this week.

So glad we made a reservation as the place was packed at 6:30. We we're greeted with some humor and shown to our table. Nice and cozy place. Our waitress was really efficient and hovering but she obviously kept an eye on her tables. Nicely done.

We ordered a starter of Warm Pistachio Crusted Goat Cheese with
roasted beets, honey and apricot-champagne vinaigrette. Very nice indeed.

My companion ordered a Grilled Filet Mignon, substituted whipped sweet potatoes (for the sour-cream mash), gorgonzola butter, port wine sauce and a ton of crispy onion straws (from which I grabbed a healthy sample!).

I had a special of Scallops (couldn't really taste the maple-syrup "crust") with the whipped sweet potatoes, pecans and spinach. A good-sized portion. Also had a good Pinot Noir by the glass. $10 for a generous glass. Fruity but with a little oomph.

No room, or time for, dessert as tempting as the offerings were. A really nice meal. Will definitely return.

By the way, Harry put on a great show! We had a great evening.
